iLu aims to transform the urban landscape of biking metropolitans and function as a rest stop for bikers to take a break and socialize. The project was inspired by spending two months in Lacoste, France, where travel options are limited and there are no rest stops for bikers.

Another inspiration was travelling to metropolitan cities such as Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam and seeing the lack of common spaces where bikers can take a rest without having to worry about finding parking for their bikes. The goal was to find an easy, intuitive, accessible solution.
